Hey Y'All,
Skip went Uptown in "His Mountains" and back in time to the era and play
spaces of the "Great Robber Barons", such as J.P. Morgan, Firestone,
Vanderbilt, Thomas Edison . The Grove Park Inn, located in Asheville, N.C,
is just the place to kick your shoes off and prop your feet up on the
amazing rear porch, as you stare off into God's gift to the earth; "My
Mountains". I had a blast, as I usually do when visiting this hideaway. In
fact, I'm not sure it's possible to do anything else but feel good in these
digs. The Inn is famed to be haunted and it feels that way late at night
when the halls go quiet. I met a super fella named John, who allowed to take
the wheel of his 1969 Land Rover, which had been completely and meticulously
restored. It appears his game was Safari, as you can see on the side of the
truck. I'm thinking about taking him up on just that, but he said there
aren't any bear or mountain lion, squirrel or possum over there in Africa ,
so I'm not sure it's really for me. As you will see at the end of the
pictoral, there is a place to train all the outsiders on how to cope in the
Hills of the southern U.S. I'm just confused as to why the Dept. of
Agriculture is doing the training. Maybe so y'all can partake in the many
wonderful plants we grow down this way:) I hope you enjoy your photographic
trip through my weekend and remember to "Keep it Metal", but do it in style.
